BSI Confirms Specification
After a long period of consultation, BSI have now released the new BS EN 10210 standard for Hot finished structural hollow sections of non-alloy and fine grain steels. Technical delivery conditions

BS EN 10210-1 specifies the technical delivery conditions for hot finished hollow sections of circular, square, rectangular or elliptical forms and applies to hollow sections formed hot, with or without subsequent heat treatment, or formed cold with subsequent heat treatment to obtain equivalent metallurgical conditions to those obtained in the hot formed product.

The requirements for tolerances, dimensions and sectional properties are contained in BS EN 10210-2

Heathrow T5
Our sections have been used extensively in the construction of the new BAA Terminal 5 building for the London Heathrow Airport.

Due to come online in 2008, the main terminal building is 396m long by 176m wide by 40m high.

This interior space could accommodate around 50 football pitches.

In total, the construction has used xx,000t of structural steel.

Your cut length material deliveries have also been speeded up considerably with the installation of a new cutting centre. In-house square and mitre cutting is now available in even the largest of sizes.

For delivery – a brand new fleet of vehicles has been commissioned, tracked by satellite and controlled by a logistics specialist.
